Characters

Fancy:

A flame-haired, middle-aged retired hooker who has had the good fortune to form a relationship with a well-off man half her age. Though self-preservation is her main goal she has a good heart and tends to put up with a lot.

Will Hutton:

An outcast in polite society thanks to an unfortunate accident in his youth, 22 year old Will has fallen in love with proud, independent Fancy, though he can never admit it.

Liza:

Growing up wild on the streets of Storyville did this 17 year old no favors. Her bad attitude and lack of job training leave her ill-suited for gainful employment, and sees working for her aunt as her ticket to the easy life.

Ariadna Gill:

A 20 year old student at the Karstenhaven Univerisity, she is one of the first women admitted into the school.  She considers herself a proper lady, and isn’t aware that she has moved into a house of ill repute.

Zell Corvi:

Struggling with abuse her entire 25 years, Zell is unknowingly granted a new start when she comes to Fancy’s boarding house.

Alice (Daniel Miller):

Sent out on the streets by his mother as a very pretty boy dressed in girls’ clothing as a youth, Alice has embraced this identity in adulthood, though he is aware that his beauty is fading with age.  [A/N: Anyone have any decent mtf trans or crossdressing pics from the period? This...isn't exactly what I had in mind...]

Leif Gelen:

A work-related accident leaves his hand mangled and unable to do work. Alice ‘rescues’ him and introduces him to the art of selling one’s body. Knowing he has few other options, he takes on the position. For now.

Ronald :

A single factory worker who lives in the house at a discount in exchange for his manly muscles.

Other Characters:

Mr. James Hutton:

Will’s father, head of the First Bank of Karstenhaven. While he disapproves of how his son is spending his money, he does approve of Fancy. Of course...he doesn’t know his son is sleeping with her.

Mona:

Fancy's younger sister, whose drug use has taken over her life.

The Prince of Cats:

Mid-level loan shark, pimp, drug dealer and all-around bad guy.
